Methodologie’s Springboard Program is a four- to six-month paid design internship in Seattle that serves as a bridge from design school to a design career. It is only open to recent design school graduates. We do not offer short summer internships.

To apply, send an inquiry telling us a little bit about yourself (include your expected date of graduation) along with a link to your online portfolio or a PDF attachment showing work samples to hr@methodologie.com, referencing the internship program.

Why Work at Methodologie?

Methodologie is an environment of possibility. Methodologie has it all—including plenty of umbrellas, a tricked-out BBQ and an occasional Scrabble tournament—but here are 10 reasons why you’ll feel at home here if you are talented, smart, engaging, curious and open to creative challenges.

1
Just right

Goldilocks would have been pleased. We are comfortable and just the right size: small enough to foster collegiality, collaboration and cooperation but large enough to accommodate ambitious and innovative projects. Caveat: we don’t serve porridge.

2
No kinks

We’ve worked them all out. Since we’ve been succeeding at this for more than two decades, we’ve got our infrastructure, processes and systems down cold. We don’t grab onto the dashboard at every swerve in the road. The only surprises you’ll encounter here are the exciting projects you’ll be working on.

3
Amazing people

We are as diverse in our backgrounds, interests and talents as we are single-minded in our dedication to creative and collaborative problem-solving. Strategists, designers, writers, technologists and marketing experts here are all critical thinkers at the top of their game. They create, enhance and innovate (beyond experimental cocktail recipes at happy hour).

4
Terrific clients

Our clients are extremely good at what they do. In fact, we like to think that’s why they chose to work with us. Our success has been built on our ability to cultivate and maintain business relationships of mutual respect with our clients. We are not happy until all our clients—from Fortune 500 powerhouses to audacious start-ups, from global foundations to passionate nonprofits—are delighted.

5
Great design

We have an awards count that rivals Meryl Streep’s. Our standards are high: exquisite, thoughtful design is the cost of entry. We’re known for producing work that is like a blissful long-term domestic partnership between stunning and strategic, gorgeous and functional. And it always exceeds our clients’ communications goals—beautifully.

6
Silos are for grain

You won’t get stuck in one place at Methodologie. We offer opportunities to develop and manage broad multichannel communications systems or work on components that range from identity design to websites, mobile apps, motion graphics, printed projects, exhibits, signage, corporate reports, naming, and brand research and strategy. We respect the power of individual thinking as much as we recognize the value of collaboration.

7
Help sustain

We are recognized nationally for our expertise in corporate social responsibility communications, one of the fastest-growing design practice areas and one that offers the opportunity to help make a difference in the world.

8
Room with a view

We work in a beautiful environment, where we are inspired and energized every day by what we see around us. Our office in downtown Seattle is spacious and open, surrounded by windows that offer a view of Elliott Bay on one side and a 5,000-square-foot private garden on the other. Think bubbling fountain, modern glass art installation and a pair of towering 75-foot sweet gum trees. There’s a grand piano in the studio, too. We think every office should have one.

9
The Emerald City and the Big Apple

There’s a nice mix of diversions in our green city here in the upper-left corner of the country: pop culture, high culture, sports culture, fascinating weather, epic scenery and a business environment that’s recognized around the world for its innovative spirit, high-tech expertise, creative design community and entrepreneurial energy. And we also have an office in New York, a city that needs no qualifiers.

10
Have a life

People at Methodologie realize that when you’re doing something you really love with people you really like, it never feels like work. Sure, there are sometimes weekend or late-night sprints to launch a project, but generally we think working smarter is better than working longer. We mix up busy, productive weeks of stimulating work with happy hours, picnics, family craft parties, art shows, fundraisers, wine tastings, guest speakers, baseball outings, cakewalks, field trips and countless other ways and reasons to celebrate together.
