Catch up with GE, IBM, and the rest of the Fortune 100

Methodologie’s Annual Review of Corporate Reports is now available for download. (PDF)

Every year we survey the corporate reports of the Fortune 100 as a barometer of current reporting practices. Find out how competitors and peers publish their reports and what kinds of information they include.

This year we started tracking two recent trends:

Social media

It’s no surprise that social media has started appearing in online reports—GE, Chevron, and a handful of other companies allow users to share their reports via Twitter, Facebook, Digg, and a few other services. This feature is definitely worth watching to see who is using it most effectively.

Statements of assurance

These statements by third-party organizations vouch for the dependability of the CSR reporting methods, similar to an auditor’s statement in financial reports. We predict assurance statements will become increasingly important in CSR reports. See how (and which) early adopters are presenting this important credential.

Also covered:

How many companies produce a narrative report?
What form do the reports take (print, online, PDF, etc.)?
How long are narrative sections?
How many companies produce stand-alone CSR reports vs. those that produce a combined annual report/CSR report?
How many reports used the GRI framework as their reporting index?
…among other topics.
