I.D. magazine’s Annual Design Review 2009 hit newsstands this month, showcasing the best designs from around the world in 2009. Methodologie and Senior Designer Minh Nguyen made the cut with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle’s 2007 Report of Affordable Housing and Community Investment Initiatives.

The Seattle Bank’s Report of Affordable Housing shares honors with cutting-edge designs for everything from sleek personal aircraft to biodegradable gift boxes. Strange company for a corporate communications piece, but the report stands out for its unusual paper stock, type treatment, layout, and personal style of photography.

The distinctive style appeals to designers—the report has also been honored by Print, Applied Arts, and STEP Inside Design—but it serves the book’s two purposes: highlighting the Seattle Bank’s activities through personal stories of participants and educating customers and financial institutions about the available programs.
